Day in the life of a physical therapist at Spine & Sport is rich in clinical opportunities

At Spine & Sport, our therapists take advantage of a variety of opportunities to grow their therapy skills.

New graduates

Spine & Sport has a mentorship program for new physical therapy graduates. Mentees are paired with senior clinicians based on the mentee’s goals, areas of interest or self-identified weakness.

Our mentorship program officially runs for six months, during which time program participants meet one-on-one with their mentor. While the program runs for a finite amount of time, mentors and mentees are encouraged to have an ongoing supportive relationship.

Spine & Sport’s dedication to training future physical and occupational therapists is evident by the 100 + therapy students doing clinical rotations with Spine & Sport. Our students learn the latest techniques and are able to impress and help patients during their one-on-one interactions with their vast knowledge.

Sports and Clinical Residency Program

Our Sports and Clinical Residency Program educates, inspires and motivates physical therapists to become integral members of the multi-disciplinary sports medicine team.

Leaders

Our established physical and occupational therapists are often interested in taking on a leadership role here at Spine & Sport. To prepare therapists, we offer a comprehensive leadership training program. Our leadership program is a five-month commitment.

Continuing education and professional development

Spine & Sport offers a variety of continuing education and professional development opportunities for staff throughout the year.

  • Continuing education courses are available on Saturdays (four sessions per year).
  • Clinical Pearl videos are published every Monday. Clinical Pearl videos feature a master clinician providing insight and relevant information on a new topic each week.
  • Lunch & Learn presentations are offered each month on a variety of topics to enhance therapists’ clinical skills.
  • Our Journal Club meets monthly to stay up-to-date on the latest research and evidence-based practices.
  • Additional annual continuing education benefit is offered.

Physical therapy research

Our entire team is professionally and personally driven by patient success and satisfaction. A key competent of physical and occupational therapy at Spine & Sport is incorporating the latest research.

Working together with our research partners, including the U.S. Spine & Sport Foundation, Spine & Sport shares our research findings and perspectives on the latest technologies, tools and techniques to improve the patient experience for all physical therapy patients.

We sponsor people from outside the United States for physical therapist temporary work visas. These are three-year visas that require the candidate to make a commitment for the duration.
